The fat is then injected into the butt area to enlarge it and give it a better shape. Because the patient’s own tissue is used for augmentation, the result is an enhanced butt that looks smooth and very natural.
Estimated cost: In general, the price of butt augmentation surgeries ranges from as low as $4000 to as high as $20,000 depending on a number of factors including the fees for the surgeon, the fee for the anesthesiologist and the hospital facility costs. Brazilian butt lift starts at $4500 (including the fee for liposuction) and can go as high as $10,000-20,000.
Rotation Flaps
Rotation flaps pertains to the method of moving a specific volume of tissue from one area to another area near it. Patients suited for this technique include those who have lots of excess fat and skin on the waist. These patients have usually lost significant amounts of weight and may also benefit from a lower body lift.
The first part of the procedure involves creating a pocket of tissue on the butt cheek. This is followed by the creation of an incision on the sides of the waist and then lifting a flap of excess skin and fat without completely detaching it from its source. This ensures that the flap has adequate blood supply. The free end of the flap is then rotated towards the butt check and inserted into the previously created pocket. The technique may cause some scarring that can easily be hidden by a bikini.

Dermal Fat Grafts
In dermal fat grafting, a section of the skin with lots of fats underneath it is completely cut from its source and then transferred to the butt area. The effect is much like an implant but the look and feel is much more natural because it is the patient’s own tissue. Compared to rotation flaps, dermal fat grafts require a much larger piece of tissue from the abdomen. This type of butt augmentation is usually performed alongside a tummy tuck. The excess skin and fat discarded during a tummy tuck is used for filling out the butt area. That’s why this technique is only good for patients who also need a tummy tuck. The volume of excess skin and fat removed from the abdominal area must be enough to cover the butt area.

Butt Implants
Although butt implants have been around for 50 years, they still have a large risk of complications. Such complications include opening of the wound (leading to infection), nerve compression, displacement of the implant and seroma (fluid accumulation around the implant). Despite all these complications, implants can provide significant improvements in the size and shape of the butt. Augmentation via implants is often the last resort when the other three methods are not indicated for the patient. Patients who usually require an implant are those who have very minimal fat. These implants are placed beneath each butt cheek. An incision is made over the tailbone for this purpose.
