The end of 2018 was a big night for those in attendance at the Stonewall Inn in the West Village of New York City. The people at the Stonewall Inn were treated to a surprise performance from the music icon known by one name…Madonna.
However, all anyone could talk about that night was a certain body part of the Queen of Pop.
Madonna Butt Implant Gossip
After Madonna left the stage, the conversation moved from her performance to a discussion about her booty. Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton wrote a post asking “Did Madonna get butt implants? Her bοοty looks insane!!!”
A debate was started on Twitter as some people insisted that the video of her performance was all the proof needed to prove she had a secret procedure. On the other hand, some people simply suggested that the “booty bulge” was nothing more than the result of a poor choice of padding.
As she has done so many times in the past, Madonna took back the spotlight and addressed the issue on Instagram. She posted a selfie with the caption that she is “desperately seeking no one’s approval.” (An obvious nod to her breakout movie, “Desperately Seeking Susan”)
Dangers of Buttock Injections in the Spotlight
While Madonna worked to silence the allegations against her and her behind, the incident has started a discussion over butt injections in general. The topic isn’t one that doctors take lightly and many plastic surgeons have talked about the dangers of buttock injections. For example, a woman in New York City was recently arrested for allegedly performing an illegal butt injection procedure on a woman in the Bronx. The woman who received the injections died last summer as a result of the procedure.
When the phrase “butt injections” is discussed in public, many people think that the phrase is describing a treatment that involves silicone or other materials being injected directly into the buttocks. Patients should know that silicone used in breast implants is safe thanks to a protective covering. On the other hand, the type of silicone used in butt injections does not have this protective coating so butt injections using silicone, collagen or any other synthetic materials are deemed to be illegal by the authorities.
Back in November, the FDA issued a warning that stated “side effects [of injectable silicone] can include ongoing pain … scarring, tissue death, and permanent disfigurement. If the silicone migrates beyond the injection site, it could cause an embolism (blockage of a blood vessel), stroke, infections and death. Serious complications may occur right away or could develop weeks, months or years later.”
A Butt Augmentation Procedure Approved by the FDA
The FDA has approved one type of butt augmentation and it is a surgical procedure known as a Brazilian butt lift (BBL). The American Board of Cosmetic Surgery describes BBL as a procedure that is performed to improve “the fullness and shape of the buttocks using your own fat.” The surgery involves a doctor using liposuction to remove fat from another area on the body of the patient. The fat that is removed is cleansed and purified before it is injected into the buttocks of the patient.
When discussing a BBL surgery, doctors say that the procedure requires the right candidate. Since a Brazilian butt lift uses fat from the body of the actual patient, the person need to have enough fat to spare for the surgery. Many patients that don’t have enough fat to spare because they are too skinny end up going somewhere besides the office of a board-certified doctor. They undergo an illegal butt augmentation procedure. These illegal treatments often result in serious side effects such as scars, chronic pain and other health problems.
Visit a Board-Certified Doctor
Before making the final decision to undergo any kind of butt augmentation, patients need to schedule a consultation appointment with a board-certified doctor. The doctor will perform a thorough examination and determine if the patient is an ideal candidate for butt augmentation. The doctor will also discuss the desired final results with the patient and let the person know their medical options/the medical procedure that is the best choice to achieve desired final results that are long-lasting and natural in appearance.
