Cardi B Illegal Butt Augmentation Experience

Cardi B Illegal Butt Injection

When it comes to attaining a bigger backside, there are many natural ways to achieve a bigger booty including genetics and a fitness plan designed with that specific goal in mind. In addition, injectable fillers can be used but they should only be administered by a licensed medical professional.

It is not just everyday patients that want to achieve a bigger behind. Even celebrities sometimes take extreme measures to get the buttock shape of their dreams.

Cardi B Illegal Butt InjectionCardi B and her Efforts to get a Bigger Butt

In a recent interview with GQ Magazine, rapper Cardi B revealed that she had butt injections performed on her around four years ago. However, she did not have the injections performed in a licensed medical facility. Instead, they were performed in a basement and no numbing medication was used at all. Overall, the cost of her illegal butt injections was around $800. Cardi told the magazine, “It was the craziest pain ever. I felt like I was gonna pass out. I felt a little dizzy.” The rapper added that she experienced leakage following the injections for about five days.

Is this an Extreme Example?

While the above story of Cardi B might seem like an extreme example, it is actually more common than most people realize. As recently as 2017, the FDA released a warning to consumers about the dangers of getting unlicensed buttock injections. In a written statement, the FDA said they have “investigated and prosecuted unlicensed providers administering these injections all over the country.”

What is considered to be an Illegal Injection?

In order to be considered an illegal procedure when it comes to undergoing cosmetic surgery, the person performing the medical procedure in question must perform the following steps:

  • Perform the treatment without a medical license
  • The procedure must be performed in a nonmedical, and unregulated, setting
  • The person performing the procedure does so with products that are not approved for medical use
  • By performing the procedure, the person in question defrauds a consumer by posing as a medical professional or by misrepresenting a product, on purpose, to a patient by claiming it is made of an FDA-approved substance

When it comes to the use of off-label substances, it should be noted that any off-label use of a substance approved by the FDA is not considered to be illegal. However, the use of the off-label substance should be a red flag to consumers.

How Buttock Augmentation is Normally Performed

There are many popular methods for enhancing the butt. These methods include:

In her interview with GQ, Cardi B implied that when she had the injections performed, she didn’t have enough excess fat on her body to undergo fat grafting. That is the main reason she decided to receive synthetic fillers.

Dangers of Illegal Medical Facilities

In procedures that are performed outside of licensed medical facilities, there is often no anesthesia given to patients so the treatment can be a very painful experience. Plus, the risk of infection is higher due to the lack of a sterile environment or equipment during the procedure.

In addition, there is no definitive way to know exactly what type of substance is being injected into a person since the treatment is not being performed in a licensed medical facility. Instead of using materials approved by the FDA, the unlicensed doctor could use any type of substances that can be found in a hardware store. These substances include industrial-grade silicone or cement. Plus, the person might use dermal fillers that are normally used for issues such as facial lines and wrinkles.

Patients who had a procedure performed in a location that was not a medical hospital or facility should be very careful when it comes to their recovery. They should watch for signs of trouble such as an infection or more serious complications like lingering pain, trouble breathing, stroke symptoms and disfigured tissues.

Even if a patient experiences some of these problems, surgery cannot always correct the issues caused by illegal substances.

Before making the final decision to undergo any type of medical procedure, patients should always schedule a consultation with a board-certified medical professional who can conduct an examination before any type of body modification procedure is performed.
